Driving is a great way to see the small villages and tropical jungles of the region. About an hour outside of the international airport in Belize City the terrain turns mountainous and lush. Gorgeous views abound one after the other. Make sure to stop and try some local cuisine. If you are not in a hurry, visit the national parks and forests along the way.
Hopkins is a 3 1/2 hour drive from the airport. We recommend making your car reservations in advance as the airport rental companies do not stock a large supply of automobiles.
From the International Airport turn left on the Northern Highway. In about 3 miles you turn left again on Burrell Boom Road. That brings you to a roundabout at Hattieville. There you turn right onto the Western Highway. You follow that till Belmopan. There you turn left onto the Hummingbird Highway direction Dangriga and Punta Gorda. After 45 miles through the beautiful Maya Mountains, you turn right onto the Southern Highway. The first village you pass is Silk Grass. Two miles after Silk Grass, you turn left onto Hopkins Road and in 4 miles you reach Hopkins. At that junction, you turn right and follow the village road. All Seasons Guest House is the last house on the right side .
